Nigerians continue to bite their fingers as the 2026 FIFA World Cup draws closer in Canada, USA and Mexico in June.
The Super Eagles missed out on the opportunity to play in the inter-confederations qualifiers after losing to DR Congo at the CAF qualifiers in Morocco.

The three time African champions sold out a 1-1 draw against DR Congo in 120 minute before losing 4-3 on penalty shootouts in the finals.
The defeat meant that, Nigeria have missed two successive World Cups in Qatar 2022 and the upcoming one.
Former Super Eagles midfielder, Sunday Oliseh has shared some ideas on how the Green and White nation can re-strategize for the subsequent competitions.
In a video posted on X by GNB Official, the former Borussia Dortmund combative midfielder said: “Nigeria needs a whole inventory of the national team.”
Nigeria however reached the semifinals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, claiming bronze in the process.
DR Congo on the other hand reached their first World Cup since 1974 after beating Jamaica 1-0 in the inter-confederations qualifying finals.
