The match, proposed by the Portuguese Football Federation, will take place in the country’s capital, Lisbon according to a report by Daily Post Nigeria.
Both football federations have agreed to the fixture in principle, with final logistical details expected to be confirmed shortly.
Although the Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, they garnered significant attention following their impressive performance at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
The encounter will serve as a vital part of Portugal’s preparation for the upcoming World Cup, while the Super Eagles will use the match to shape up for the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
Portugal famously defeated the three-time African champions 4-0 the last time the two sides met in a friendly in November 2022.
