Nigerian billionaire Abdulsamad Rabiu has announced a financial reward for the Nigeria national team following their qualification to the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria booked their place in the last four after a 2-0 victory over Algeria on Saturday evening in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Rabiu pledged to reward the Super Eagles with a bonus if they manage to defeat Morocco in the semi-final clash scheduled for next Wednesday.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Rabiu wrote:

“Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria! 🇳🇬
You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals.

To encourage you, I pledge USD $500,000 to the players upon winning the semi-final, with an additional USD $50,000 for every goal scored.

Should you go on to win the final, I further pledge USD $1,000,000, plus USD $100,000 for each goal scored in the final.

Wishing you continued success as you carry Nigeria forward.
Keep making Nigeria proud.
Proudly Nigerian 🇳🇬”

Nigeria are the joint-most frequent semi-finalists in Africa Cup of Nations history, having reached this stage 17 times, more than any other national team in the competition, level with Egypt.

Nigeria will face hosts Morocco on Wednesday, January 14, at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, in the semi-finals of AFCON 2025.
