Nigerian forward Emmanuel Dennis move to Watford hits a snag

English Football League Championship side Watford have reportedly backed out of the deal to sign Nigerian forward, Emmanuel Dennis as they are content with their attacking options.

Dennis’ contract was mutually terminated by Premier League club, Nottingham Forest in August. The Watford Observer reported that since being out of contact, the 27-year-old has been training with Watford since then with the hope of signing a contract with the club.

Dennis was on loan at Blackburn last season

Watford were reportedly willing to offer the player a one-and-a-half-year contract before having a rethink.However the Hornets could revisit the deal in January.

Dennis first signed for the Hornets in the summer of 2021, scoring 10 goals in the 2021/22 relegation season before joining Nottingham Forest in 2022 for an eight-figure fee.

He then returned to the Hornets in January 2024, netting four goals in 18 matches The forward was on loan at Blackburn last season.
