Nigerian striker Akiri Temple Taiwo has officially been announced as the new signing of Sudanese football powerhouse Al-Hilal.

Akiri, hailed as one of Nigeria’s brightest prospects, has put pen to paper on a four-year contract with Al-Hilal after completing a move from Nigeria’s third division the Nationwide League side Gbagada FC.

The youngster was named the league’s best player last January and registered 15 goal involvements for Gbagada FC last season. Al-Hilal’s technical director, Florent Ibengé, speaking on the signing, expressed optimism about Akiri’s potential impact.

“Akiri Temple Taiwo is a player we’ve been monitoring closely. His talent, work rate, and goal-scoring ability are clear. We believe he will be a valuable asset to our team as we push for our objectives in the coming seasons.”

The move comes as Al-Hilal, a dominant force in Sudanese football and a regular contender in continental competitions like the CAF Champions League, actively seeks to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.
