The first stage of the Nile Egyptian League has concluded after 17 rounds, setting the stage for a decisive second phase.
The league is now split into two groups: the top nine teams will compete in the title group, while the bottom nine will battle to avoid relegation. The last two teams of the bottom nine group at the end of the competition will be relegated to the Second Division A.
Key format details
All teams carry forward their points from the first stage. Each team will play eight matches against the other teams in their respective groups. Fixtures are reversed from the first stage, meaning if a team played an opponent away, they will now host them at home.
For example, Al Ahly played Pyramids at home in the first stage (Cairo International Stadium). In the second stage, Pyramids will host the return fixture at the Air Defense Stadium.
In case of a tie on points, goal difference will be the deciding factor, not head-to-head results. Due to the odd number of teams in each group (9 teams), one team will have a bye each round.
