Nile League: Pyramids reclaim top spot with latest victory

The 13th round of the Nile Egyptian League continued with four matches taking place today.

Pyramids back on top again

Pyramids 3-0 Haras El Hodoud

Pyramids FC reclaimed the top spot in the Nile Egyptian League after a 3-0 win over Haras El Hodoud.

Ahmed Atef “Kotta” opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a well-placed shot after an individual effort and a cross from Ibrahim Adel. Mostafa Fathi doubled the lead in the 83rd minute, firing home from inside the box.

Youssef Obama scored the third goal in stoppage time (98th minute) with another close-range finish following a precise cross from Mohamed Chibi.

This victory extends Pyramids’ unbeaten run to 14 matches across all competitions, including 12 wins. Their last defeat came against Esperance de Tunis in the CAF Champions League group stage.

Additionally, this marks Pyramids’ fourth consecutive win in all competitions and their third straight victory in the league.

Current Standings:

1st – Pyramids: 30 points (1 point ahead of Al Ahly)

8th – Haras El Hodood: 18 points

Late action as Ceramica Cleopatra and ZED share the points

ZED FC 1-1 Ceramica Cleopatra

A late equalizer saw Ceramica Cleopatra earn a 1-1 draw against ZED FC. Mostafa Ziko scored a bicycle kick in the 69th minute to put ZED ahead.

Ahmed Belhadji converted a penalty in the 87th minute after Mahmoud Zalaka was fouled inside the box.

ZED are now winless in five consecutive league matches (three draws and two losses).

Meanwhile, Ceramica Cleopatra extended their own winless streak to three league games, having lost their previous two fixtures before today’s one.

5th – Ceramica Cleopatra: 20 points

11th – ZED: 16 points

El Gouna end winless run as Ismaily’s losing streak continues

El Gouna 2-0 Ismaily

El Gouna secured their first league victory in six matches with a 2-0 win over Ismaily.

Marwan Mohsen broke the deadlock in the 46th minute with a header but refrained from celebrating against his former club.

Mahmoud Abbas doubled the lead in the 87th minute, finishing after a cross left him one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Gambian left-back Alieu Jatta provided the assists for both of El Gouna’s goals.

El Gouna had failed to win any of their last six league games, getting five defeats and one draw. On the other hand, Ismaily suffered their fourth consecutive league defeat.

14th – Ismaily: 12 points

16th – El Gouna: 10 points

Goalless draw as Al Masry and National Bank cancel each other out

Al Masry 0-0 National Bank

Al Masry and National Bank played out a 0-0 stalemate, with the match highlighted by a red card for the home side.

Amadou Bah was sent off less than 10 minutes after coming on as a substitute at halftime.

The midfielder received his first booking after the referee called a foul in the 48th minute and was shown a second yellow in the 55th minute for another foul.
