Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that midfielder Njabulo Blom will return to his parent club, Major League Soccer side St. Louis City SC, after his loan stint.
The 25-year-old struggled to cement a consistent starting position under coach Nasreddine Nabi due to below-par performances.
Blom's one-year loan from St. Louis City SC, which included an option to buy, concluded with the end of the 2024/25 PSL season.
He rejoined Amakhosi with high expectations, but his performances reportedly didn't convince the Chiefs' technical team as he failed to replicate the form that saw him earn a move to the USA in January 2023.
Blom featured in 19 matches for the Glamour Boys, but he only started 10, playing in both right-back and defensive midfield.
In a statement released on Friday, the Soweto giants said: “After completing his loan spell with Kaizer Chiefs, Njabulo Blom will return to his parent club, St. Louis City SC, in the United States of America.
“Blom rejoined the Amakhosi at the beginning of September 2024 under an agreement to spend a season at his boyhood Club in the Betway Premiership.
“After donning the famous Gold & Black jersey for the second time in his career, the Dobsonville-born player departs Amakhosi with a Nedbank Cup gold medal, and we wish him all the best in Major League Soccer (MLS)."
