“I want to drive Nordsjaelland to higher heights” – Caleb Yirenkyi after contract extension

Ghana’s sensational midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi is over the moon following his long-term contract extension with Nordsjaelland.

The 19-year-old extended his stay with the Danish Superliga club until the summer of 2030. The extension comes as a reward for his outstanding performances and steady growth over the past year, having made 29 Superliga appearances since breaking into the first team.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Yirenkyi shared his excitement about the new deal while emphasizing his desire to continue working hard for the team.

Caleb Yirenkyi has earned six international caps for Ghana

“I’m happy about the extension, and now I just want to continue to drive and do as well as I possibly can for FC Nordsjaelland,” he said.

“Over the past year, I have learned an incredible amount, and the coaches and my teammates always make sure I’m still learning something new every single day. I’m not a person who looks that far ahead – I’m taking it day by day.”

Yirenkyi became an instant hit for Ghana’s senior team under coach Otto Addo where he was roped in at right-back during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. He has gone on to earn six international caps for the Black Stars.

He is expected to be part of Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be co-hosted by Canada, USA and Mexico if he keeps his form for Nordsjaelland.
