Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has provided a positive update on Noussair Mazraoui’s recovery from an injury. The Moroccan picked up an injury on Sunday during a Premier League game against Bournemouth. The Cherries player Evanilson received a red card for fouling the defender in the 70th minute.
The incident raised fears that the wing-back might be ruled out of Manchester United’s UEFA Europa League quarter-final, first leg match against Athletic Club on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
However, Amorim has since said Noussair Mazraoui’s injury was not as bad as feared.
"I think he's okay. In these kinds of situations, at this moment, anything that could be a danger for a player that [plays in one position [where] we lost Diogo] Dalot, we try to save that," the United boss said.
Asked what he thinks of the Premier League’s style of hard tackling, the Portuguese coach reserved his comment.
"I've nothing to say. It's the Premier League, and we need to play like that, because it's the way we want the game, and sometimes things happen. But I have nothing to say about that," he said.
Noussair Mazraoui made his 51st appearance for the Reds in the game against Bournemouth. He joined from Bayern Munich last season.
