NPFL: Chidiebere Nwobodo returns to Rangers

Chidiebere Nwobodo has officially rejoined Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Rangers International (Enugu Rangers) ahead of the 2025-26 season, putting pen to paper on a two-year contract.

Enugu Rangers made this announcement via their social media platform on Monday.

The unveiling for the the midfielder, who previously played for the Flying Antelopes during their triumphant 2023-24 NPFL campaign, stated that Nwobodo is back to where he belongs and he is ready to conquer and make history.

“HE’S BACK! Chidiebere Nwobodo returns to the Cathedral on a two-year deal! The midfield dynamo is back where he belongs — ready to fight, lead, and conquer once again in the famous white and red. Welcome home, Chidiebere. Let’s make history!”

Nwobodo joins from Rwandan club APR FC in Kigali, where he spent a brief stint after departing Nigeria. His move back to the former NPFL champions is expected to bolster Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu’s squad. Nwobodo has already has 102 NPFL appearances and scored 16 goals before his move abroad.

Nwobodo’s contributions were particularly vital during the 2023-24 season, where he played a pivotal role in Rangers clinching the NPFL title. Notably, he scored a crucial goal that helped seal the championship, showcasing his knack for decisive moments.

Rangers are setting their sights high for the upcoming season, not only aiming to reclaim the Nigerian league trophy but also to challenge for the President Federation Cup.
