Following the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super Six, eight players from the league have been called up by interim Super Falcons coach Justine Madugu as part of his 23-woman squad for two friendly matches against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon.

The duo from NWFL champions Bayelsa Queens, Blessing Ilivieda and Linda Jiwuaku, were called up alongside Edo Queens players Morufa Ademola, Miracle Usani, Amarachi Odoma, and Emem Essien.

Also, Remo Stars Ladies forward Olamide Bolaji was called up alongside Nasarawa Amazons duo Josephine Mathias as well as Sikiratu Isah.

Other invited players include defenders Osinachi Ohale, Oluwatosin Demehin and Shukurat Oladipo, midfielders Deborah Abiodun and Jennifer Echegini and forwards Ifeoma Onumonu and Francisca Ordega.

The Falcons are gearing up for the 13th Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, scheduled from July 5th to 26th, and these matches will be a key part of their preparations. Meanwhile, the Lionesses, who didn't qualify for this year's Women AFCON finals, will use the games to maintain their fitness for upcoming challenges.

Their first encounter is set for Saturday, May 31st, at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo. A second match between the Falcons and the Lionesses will take place on Tuesday, June 3rd, at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta.

All invited 23 players have been directed to arrive at Ijebu-Ode on Monday, 26th May.

The nine-time WAFCON champions will be up against Tunisia, Algeria and Botswana in Group B of the 13th WAFCON in Morocco.
