Rivers Angels claimed the top spot in Group A following a clinical 2-0 away victory over Naija Ratels in Abuja. The “Jewels of Rivers” asserted their dominance early, with Abasiofon Uwah and Grace Saliu finding the net in the 14th and 18th minutes, respectively. This clinical first-half display catapulted the Port Harcourt giants to 24 points, successfully leapfrogging the previously idle Bayelsa Queens to lead the standings.
Simultaneously, Edo Queens fortified their own title credentials with a hard-fought 1-0 triumph over Heartland Queens in Owerri. A 73rd-minute strike from Kafayat Mafisere proved to be the difference-maker, ensuring the visitors extended their historical dominance over their hosts.
The result propelled Edo Queens into second place—level on 24 points with Rivers Angels—while Heartland Queens suffered a setback, sliding down to sixth position with 11 points.
In Group B, FC Robo Queens were frustrated in a 1-1 stalemate against Confluence Queens in Iyamho. Oluwakemi Adegbuyi initially handed the Lagos-based side the advantage in the 28th minute, but their lead was erased just before the interval when Vicental Ezeani converted a 42nd-minute penalty to restore parity.
Capitalising on that slip-up, second-placed Nasarawa Amazons maintained their relentless pursuit of the summit with a dramatic 1-0 win over Dannaz Ladies in Lafia. It took until the dying embers of the match for Deborah Onyekachi to break the visitors’ stubborn resistance, scoring a stoppage-time winner that secured all three points in pulsating fashion.
Down in Aba, Ahudiyannem Queens produced arguably the most emphatic performance of the round, dismantling Osun Babes 3-0. The encounter belonged to Grace Aaron, whose sensational brace (4’, 80’) set the tone, while Nwabueze Charles added a third to complete the rout.
Crucially, this victory lifted Ahudiyannem Queens out of the relegation zone for the first time this season, providing a massive boost to their survival hopes.
