Official: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leaves Al Qadsiah by mutual consent

Al Qadsiah have officially announced the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after both parties agreed to terminate the contract by mutual consent. The decision comes just one year after the Gabonese striker joined the Saudi club.

Aubameyang had a strong season with Al Qadsiah, scoring 21 goals and providing 3 assists in 36 matches across all competitions.

He had joined Al Qadsiah in the summer of 2024 on a contract that was supposed to run until June 2026, but despite his good performance, the club has decided to move in a different direction and is now going to sign a younger striker.

Negotiations are already close to be successful with Italian forward Mateo Retegui who arrived in Saudi Arabia to complete the move.

Before moving to Saudi Arabia, Aubameyang had a very good spell with Olympique de Marseille during the 2023–2024 season. He played 51 matches in all competitions, scoring 30 goals and providing 11 assists.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona striker is now available as a free agent and according to reports, Olympique de Marseille, where Aubameyang played before joining Al Qadsiah, are interested in bringing him back.
