Tusker coach Charles Okere has admitted they are going through a difficult period as they prepare to take on Mathare United in their third FKF Premier League fixture of the season at Dandora Stadium on Wednesday.
The Brewers are going through a rough path, having lost their opening two matches. They started their campaign with a 2-0 defeat against KCB before going down 2-1 against Posta Rangers in their matchday two.
Ahead of their matchday three against Mathare United, Okere says the team is ready to bounce back to winning ways, adding everyone is keen to right the wrongs from the first two matches of the campaign and do better.
“It is a tough period of course losing two games in a row, but we have also tried to look at the positives that will lift the team’s spirits heading into tomorrow’s game. We had a good pre-season with so many good moments that we can pick and bring them onto our league matches,” Okere told the club’s official website.
“We have conceded four goals in two matches but in circumstances which we should have controlled better so over the last two days of training this is an area we have looked at keenly.”
On coming up against Mathare United, Okere said: “They are a very good side with technical players and are confident at the moment so we will approach that match with a lot of caution but we must head there confident.”
The Brewers will look to put behind the outcome of the last meeting with the ‘Slum Boys’, which Mathare won 2-1 with a come-from-behind performance at the same venue.
Mathare won their last match, with a 1-0 result against KCB at the Kasarani Annex.
