Uganda Premier League side URA FC has secured the services of highly-rated striker Olimi Nyarwa from Vipers Junior Team on a three-year contract.
The teenager, known for his clinical finishing and pace adds depth to the Tax Collectors' attacking line. Confirming the signing, URA FC expressed their excitement on social media welcoming Nyarwa to the club: “We are delighted to announce the signing of promising right winger/forward Olimi Nyarwa Bitanywaine, who joins us from Vipers Junior Team on a three-year contract. Welcome to the Tax Collectors family.”
Nyarwa, who previously honed his skills at the Edgars Youth Programme, brings a formidable goal-scoring record with him. He netted 25 goals in the FUFA Juniors League, helping Vipers Junior Team claim the Buganda Region title in the 2022/23 season.
At URA FC, Nyarwa will face stiff competition for a starting spot from established strikers like Ivan Ahimbisibwe, Shariph Kimbowa, Bruno Bunyaga and Denis Kisiriko, all of whom have already made their mark in the team.
However, his impressive form in the junior league positions him as a potential game-changer for the Tax Collectors.
URA FC finished the first round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League in fifth place with 24 points and will look to build on that momentum as they visit table leaders Vipers SC on Tuesday, 11th February 2025, in their first game of the second round.
