Olisa Ndah pens heartfelt goodbye to Pirates

After five seasons of defensive masterclasses and silverware in Soweto, Olisa Ndah has officially said his goodbyes to the Orlando Pirates faithful.

The Nigerian took to social media on Thursday to share a heartfelt tribute to the club following the mutual termination of his contract.

The 28-year-old’s departure marks the end of an era for the Buccaneers’ backline. Olisa Ndah, who joined from Akwa United, became a cornerstone of the Pirates’ defence, helping the club navigate the highs and lows of the Betway Premiership and continental football.

In Bucs colours, he made over 80 appearances and won trophies such as the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup during his stay at the Soweto giants.

In a post shared on Instagram, Ndah expressed deep gratitude to the “Iron Duke,” Dr Irvin Khoza, and the Ghost for their unwavering support during his tenure.

‘A Piece Of My Heart Remains’ – Says Olisa Ndah

“Thank you to Orlando Pirates F.C. for the opportunity to wear the jersey and represent such a historic club with pride,” said Ndah.

“As I reflect on the past few years, I am filled with immense gratitude. From my first day to my last, this club has truly been home. We shared countless memories, celebrated incredible victories, faced setbacks that made us stronger, and put in tireless work day in and day out. I will forever cherish the highs we achieved together and the lessons that shaped me along the way.

“A special thank you to Chairman Dr Irvin Khoza, the coaching staff, management, and everyone behind the scenes for your trust and unwavering support.

“To the Buccaneers supporters, your passion and loyalty never go unnoticed. I am deeply grateful for the love and energy you bring every single day.

“As I move on to a new chapter, a piece of my heart will always remain here. I wish the club continued success and greatness in the years ahead. Once a Pirate, Always a Pirate.”

Ndah’s exit comes after a season where regular game time became harder to come by, leading both parties to agree that a fresh start was the best path forward.

What’s Next For Olisa Ndah?

While rumours recently swirled linking Olisa Ndah with a move to Libyan side Al-Shomooa—claims the player’s camp previously dismissed—his immediate future appears to be staying within South African borders.

He is currently training with Stellenbosch FC. Ndah’s agent, Mike Makaab, confirmed the defender is currently being put through his paces in the Western Cape. The goal is to secure a permanent spot at Stellies and rediscover the form that made him one of the league’s most feared markers.
