Olunga and Brahimi nominated for Qatar Stars League Player of the Week award

The Qatar Stars League (QSL) has announced its shortlist for the Player of the Week award for Matchday 10, with Algerian international Yacine Brahimi of Al Gharafa and Kenyan striker Michael Olunga of Al Arabi featuring among the top nominees.

The QSL revealed the full list of six contenders, which includes Brahimi and Olunga alongside Akram Afif, Mohamed Omar, Thiago Silva, and Sekou Oumar Yansané.

Olunga’s nomination comes after a standout performance in the previous round, where he scored two goals in Al Arabi’s emphatic 5–1 victory over Qatar SC.

Meanwhile, Brahimi earned his place on the shortlist because of scoring the winning goal in Al Gharafa’s narrow 1-0 victory over Al Wakrah in the same round.

Despite his nomination, Brahimi will be out of action for two weeks due to an injury sustained in Al Gharafa’s last match, as confirmed earlier by the club.
