Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush has revealed the song he sang for his Manchester City team-mates when travelling to the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Premier League giants have been one of the standout performers at the tournament underway in the United States. As a tradition at the Etihad, the club says it is new players and new coaches that sing for the rest of the squad when travelling.

Now, the Egyptian has disclosed the song he sung for the squad.

“I sang a song in Arabic and I chose that because there was no music. I said I’ll sing that because no-one understands Arabic so I can just say anything!,” he told City media.

The Pharaohs striker added that City's participation in the Club World Cup is helping enhance team-spirit.

"We’ve spent so much time together, sitting together at breakfast, lunch and dinner,” he said.

“Also, between sessions and after sessions we have free time that we’re spending together. That brings the chemistry up and makes us feel like a big family."

Marmoush added: “We could be here for a month so having fun every day helps a lot to improve the chemistry and play better on the pitch.”

That chemistry could prove handy when City face Al-Hilal in the round of 16 on Tuesday.

The Egyptian, who signed for City in January, is helping solve Pep Guardiola’s striking options, especially in games when the opposition targets leading scorer Erling Halaand preventing him from scoring.
