The hosts got off to an impressive start, taking the lead in the 22nd minute through Mohamed Bayo. However, the response came almost immediately, with Felipe Augusto drawing level just two minutes later.
Trabzonspor completed the comeback in the 27th minute when Onuachu reacted quickest inside the box to fire home from close range.
His effort ultimately proved decisive, as neither side managed to find the net again. While the visitors were unable to extend their first-half lead, Gaziantep failed to capitalize on their second-half opportunities despite sustained pressure.
The victory keeps the Black Sea coast club third in the Süper Lig standings with 48 points. They now trail second-placed Fenerbahçe by four points and leaders Galatasaray by seven, while Gaziantep sits ninth after suffering their ninth defeat of the campaign.
With this goal, Onuachu has now recorded 35 goals for the club, moving him up to fifth among his club’s all-time highest-scoring foreign players. The 31-year-old has scored 18 league goals this season and remains the Süper Lig’s top scorer, putting him on track for one of the most prolific campaigns of his career.
