Nigeria national team midfielder Raphael Onyedika was named Man of the Match following the Super Eagles’ dominant 3-1 victory over Uganda at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) at the Complexe Sportif de Fez in Morocco on Tuesday.

Onyedika, making his first Africa Cup of Nations appearance during his team’s final Group C encounter, put up an impressive display in midfield, scoring a brace for the Super Eagles.
The 24-year-old scored the second goal of the game in the 63rd minute before adding a third for Eric Chelle’s side four minutes later. Onyedika remained in action for the entire match.

He has now netted three times in 19 appearances for the three-time African champions. The Super Eagles will face the third place finishers from Group F in the Round of 16 on January 5 in Fez, which appears likely to be Mozambique once Group F is settled on Wednesday.
