Orbit College FC coach Pogiso Makhoye: ‘We paid school fees’

Orbit College FC coach Pogiso Makhoye says they have learnt the hard way on what it takes to play in the Betway Premier League of South Africa.

The coach said they had now adapted to the demands of playing in the South Africa Premier Soccer League likening that to ‘paying school fees.’

“We have started to find ourselves and we have started to find our rhythm…we have broken that duck of not winning away games,” the coach told SuperSport Television.

“I said after the first five games, that it was about pre-season. We are a new team in this league and we never had a pre-season.”

Orbit next league fixture will be against Magesi FC

Makhoye then highlighted the areas Orbit have improved on since the start of the second round of the Betway Premiership.

“We have adapted to the intensity of the league. In the last five games we have played, we are a changed team. We have minimised making too many mistakes. We have learnt the hard way. We have paid the school fees because every time we made a mistake, they scored.”

The rookies registered a rare win, beating Richards Bay 2-1 on Friday to move a bit up the table while lying third from the bottom. Orbit’s next league fixture will be against Magesi FC on November 1 2025.
