Osayi-Samuel: Nigeria defender waters down speculations of Fenerbahce departure

Nigeria international Bright Osayi-Samuel has watered down speculations linking him out of Fenerbahçe to several clubs across top European leagues.
The 27-year-old defender, whose deal expires in June 2025, has yet to renew his contract with the Turkish giants fueling rumors of his exit with several English Premier League clubs reportedly showing interest.
Osayi-Samuel was in action when Fenerbahçe traveled to defeat Sivasspor 3-1 in the Turkish top flight on Sunday and speaking after the match, the enterprising right-back disclosed he is focused on the Süper Lig amid rumours about a possible departure in summer.
“My only focus Is the championship. It’s hard to comment on this situation. Many people act as if they know the subject! I play for Fenerbahçe and I am very happy about it.”
“It was said that a contract had been offered and that I hadn’t accepted it, but that’s not the case. I have an excellent dialogue with the president. My only concern at the moment is the championship.”
“We will meet our president after the season to see what happens.” He concluded.
The Nigeria international has made 33 appearances in all competitions this season with one assist in the UEFA Europa League.
