Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has paid heartfelt tribute to his club and its passionate supporters after their 2-0 victory over Trabzonspor on Sunday, May 10, 2025, brought them within touching distance of the Turkish Süper Lig title.

The win leaves Cimbom just two points away from clinching the championship, with three matches still to play.

Oshimen, currently playing on loan in Istanbul, expressed his joy and gratitude on Instagram: “Another big step taken! Super proud of this team!!!!” “To the Galatasaray fans, your energy fuels us. We feel your passion in every pass, every tackle, and every goal. We’re almost there — the league title is within touching distance. Time to start warming up those dancing shoes!”

Goals from Abdulkerim Bardakci and Alvaro Morata secured the win for the Turkish giants, just a day after Fenerbahçe, their fierce competitors, had briefly sparked hopes of a title race with a decisive 4-1 victory over Basaksehir. Galatasaray's victory underscored their dominance, allowing them to maintain a comfortable eight-point lead at the league's summit.

Osimhen, who is currently the league's leading goal scorer, didn’t increase his goal tally of 24 goals. However, the 26-year-old did lead the lines with his signature intensity, once again proving vital to the team's attacking drive.

Looking ahead to the Turkish Cup final, Osimhen emphasized the importance of unwavering focus and solidarity within the Galatasaray squad as they pursue the coveted domestic double.

“It’s not over yet. All focus now turns to Wednesday. Let’s finish this season the Galatasaray way, with pride, passion, and silverware. God is the Greatest.”

As his loan spell nears its end, Osimhen's bond with Galatasaray and their supporters remains strong. With one hand on the league trophy and with their sights set on the cup, the Istanbul club are primed for a potentially historic finish.

Osimhen is on the verge of leaving his mark on Galatasaray by breaking the club's record for the most goals in a single season by a foreign player, currently held by Mario Jardel (34 goals in 2000-2001). The Nigerian striker has scored 33 goals for Galatasaray across all competitions this season (Süper Lig, Turkish Cup, and European competitions) and needs just two goals to break the record.
