Osimhen reveals previous contact from Juventus, admits playing for them would be a privilege

Victor Osimhen has revealed that playing for Juventus in the future would be an honor for him, describing the Italian giants as one of the most important clubs in world football.

The Nigerian striker, currently playing for Galatasaray, made the remarks during the pre-match press conference ahead of the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.

Osimhen admitted that he had previously been in contact to move to Turin before ultimately joining Galatasaray due to certain obstacles that prevented the deal from being completed.

‘Juventus is one of the most important clubs in the world, rich in history and home to many legends,” Osimhen said. “When they contacted me before, I was excited about the possibility of joining, but there were some complications and the transfer did not happen. If I get the opportunity in the future, playing for Juventus would be a privilege for me — just as it would be for 90% of footballers around the world.’

Despite the commanding 5-2 advantage from the first leg, Osimhen clarified that his team want to win again in the second leg.

‘It won’t be an easy match, especially for them,” he added. “But we want to win and we intend to repeat the strong performance we delivered in the first leg.’

Galatasaray will face Juventus on Wednesday, February 25, with kick-off scheduled for 8:00 PM GMT at the Allianz Stadium, in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.

The Turkish side head into the decisive clash with a commanding 5-2 advantage from the first leg, putting them in a strong position to secure qualification.
