Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen is confident his side will complete the job when they face Liverpool away in the return leg of the Champions League.
The Turkish outfit secured a slim advantage after beating the Reds 1-0 at RAMS Park in the first leg fixture of the Round of 16 on Tuesday.
Galatasaray took the lead with just seven minutes played, after Osimhen got on the end of a corner kick to head over to Gabonese international Mario Lemina, who obliged with a diving header from close range.
Speaking after the game, Osimhen told Galatasaray website he was confident they have what it takes to win the return leg at Anfield adding the club had done a good job so far.
“I’ve been very happy since I arrived wearing this jersey. This jersey is very special. I wanted to do my best for these fans. I’m experiencing completely different emotions here,” said Osimhen.
“I lost my mother at a young age, and the fans made me very happy today. That’s why it’s so important to me. We are a family with the Galatasaray fans. We did a very good job today. I think we can hurt Liverpool in the return match. We’ve done a good job so far.”

Osimhen’ sentiments were echoed by coach Okan Buruk, who said: “We gained an advantage on our home ground, which is what we wanted. Could the score have been different? It could have been. We could have made it 3-0. But our opponents could have scored too; they had chances as well. So, opportunities arose for both teams.
“The away game will be a different match. But we will go out onto the field with the same feeling, the same desire, and the same passion. We will try to do our best, just like we did today.
“When you work with good intentions and try to do the right things, the results come. We will try to continue that there as well.”
Both sides came out firing on all cylinders in the second half as Osimhen and Ibrahima Konaté saw their goals ruled out. The victory gives the Turkish side an advantage into the second leg, which will take place at Anfield next Wednesday.
