Level at 1-1 close to the hour mark, the Nigerian striker attempted an audacious bicycle kick shot that turned into the perfect assist to set up Lucas Torreira for the go-ahead goal.
Torreira previously set up the opening goal just before halftime when Sacha Boey, who recently returned on loan to Gala from Bayern Munich, put the hosts ahead. Benin national team star Steve Mounié returned fire for the visitors early in the second half to leave the match at 1-1.
But the league leaders controlled the match and Torreira provided the breakthrough courtesy of Osimhen. The Super Eagles star forward finished off the three points when he received a gift from Paulo Victor before going around the Alanyaspor keeper to finish in the 83rd minute.
He now has 17 goals and 6 assists from 25 matches in all competitions for Gala, who now have a five-point lead on rivals Fenerbahçe. Next up is a Turkish Cup clash on Tuesday where they will face Alanyaspor once again.
