Otto Addo names Ghana’s 24-man squad for September World Cup qualifiers

Ghana national team head coach Otto Addo has named a 24-man squad for upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali next month.

The list includes regular faces Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, Gideon Mensah, Antoine Semenyo, and Iñaki Williams. There is however a debut call up for 26-year-old Union Berlin left-back Derrick Arthur Köhn.

Winger Kamaldeen Sulemana, who recently moved from Southampton to Serie A side Atalanta, makes a return to the side as well as France-based midfielder Elisha Owusu who has recovered from a long-term injury.

Enterprising youngster Caleb Yirenkyi, who impressed at the Unity Cup in London, is rewarded for his strong performances with FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark with Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey equally earning a spot in the squad.

Ireland-based goalkeeper Joseph Anang also secures a spot for the double-header clashes next month.

Ghana currently tops Group I with 15 points after five wins and one loss from six matches. The Black Stars face Chad at Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on September 4 before hosting Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8.
