Ouaddou & Arrows star sweep Betway Prem monthly awards

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou and Golden Arrows’ rising star Siyanda Ndlovu have been honoured with the Betway Premiership Monthly Awards for September and October, marking the first-ever PSL accolades for both men.

The winners were chosen by an independent judging panel comprised of leading PSL-accredited journalists and broadcasters.

Ouaddou’s Perfect Turnaround

Moroccan tactician Abdeslam Ouaddou clinched the Betway Premiership Coach of the Month award for guiding Orlando Pirates through a flawless run during the two-month period.

Ouaddou’s tenure, which began in July 2025 as the replacement for Jose Riveiro, started with two successive league defeats. However, the former Marumo Gallants coach has since steered the ship dramatically, achieving three crucial wins from three league matches in September and October.

Crucially, Ouaddou’s tactical adjustments have been exceptional on both ends of the pitch: all three victories were secured without conceding a single goal, propelling the Buccaneers to an improved position on the table. Since those initial losses, Ouaddou has not suffered another defeat in the Premiership, recording six wins and one draw in nine matches played.

Ndlovu Secures Double Honour

The accolades kept rolling for KwaZulu-Natal side Golden Arrows as young winger Siyanda Ndlovu secured a rare double, walking away with both the Betway Premiership Player of the Month and Goal of the Month honours.

Ndlovu, 23, has been the driving force behind Abafana Bes’thende’s recent rise in form under coach Manqoba Mngqithi. Over the five league matches played in September and October, the sensational attacker was directly involved in six goals: he scored three goals and contributed three assists.

His Goal of the Month victory came for his spectacular individual effort against Stellenbosch FC on October 22, beating out strong contenders including Marumo Gallants’ Jaisen Clifford and Polokwane City’s Thabang Mathuludi. Ndlovu’s skill, particularly his impressive dribbling ability, has been key to Arrows climbing to eighth place despite a slow start to the campaign.
