Ouaddou provides progress report on Sinoxolo Kwayiba

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has offered insight into the progress of new signing Sinoxolo Kwayiba, who joined the club during the off-season.

Kwayiba, a talented attacker who made a name for himself at Chippa United, was a key figure for his former team over the past two seasons.

His impressive form earned him a Bafana Bafana call-up and prompted the Buccaneers to secure his signature ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Despite his strong record—seven goals and one assist in 28 appearances last season—the 25-year-old has found it challenging to break into Pirates’ star-studded starting lineup.

So far this season, Kwayiba has only made two appearances against Marumo Gallants and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Ouaddou recently addressed Kwayiba’s situation, assuring that the player’s hard work in training will eventually pay off.

“Kwayiba is doing a fantastic job every day. I’m very happy about his commitment,” Ouaddou stated.  “Like I said with many other players, his time will come, and he has to be ready to give his best for the club, like other players you have seen.”

The coach highlighted that consistent effort is the key to earning a spot in the team.

“There were a lot of questions about certain players in the previous press conference, and you saw them today, and they have to perform,” he added, hinting that every player will get an opportunity to prove their worth.
