Moroccan midfielder Azzedine Ounahi delivered an impressive performance to help Girona secure a valuable 2–1 away victory over Real Sociedad.
The hosts took the lead first in the 35th minute, when Gonçalo Guedes found the net to put Real Sociedad ahead before halftime.
Girona reacted strongly in the second half, with Ounahi playing a decisive role. In the 76th minute, the Moroccan international sent a precise long ball into the penalty area, allowing Viktor Tsygankov to score the equaliser.
Tsygankov struck again in the 84th minute, scoring the winning goal and sealing all three points for Girona in a dramatic finish.
With this win, Girona move up to 15 points in 17th place, while Real Sociedad are 14th with 16 points.
Ounahi continues his fine form, having also scored Girona’s only goal in the 1–1 draw against Real Madrid in the previous round.
The Moroccan midfielder will join the Morocco national team camp as preparations begin for the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco, with the tournament kicking off on December 21.
