Crystal Palace are in advanced talks to sign Ivorian center back Ousmane Diomande from Portuguese Premier League side Sporting CP. Negotiations have progressed between the parties.
Ousmane Diomande. Um verdadeiro patrão que nunca treme nos jogos grandes. O meu central favorito no SCP. Presença física impressionante e solidez em todos os duelos. Quando evoluir na estabilidade metal, tornar-se-á ainda mais dominante. Um craque. pic.twitter.com/a5YKQFTX8t

Diomande is expected to cost around €55 million and would be Palace’s second signing this summer following the arrival of goalkeeper Walter Benitez on a free transfer. Diomande, 20, is expected to replace England international Marc Guehi whose departure from Selhurst Park now looks increasingly likely.
The Ivory Coast international has enjoyed a meteoric rise since joining Sporting CP from Danish club FC Midtjylland in January 2023. Diomande’s commanding presence, composure on the ball, and physical strength have made him one of the Portuguese league’s most notable defenders.
Sporting CP initially hoped to secure Diomande’s €80 million release clause, but lowered their demands. Negotiations have now settled on a €55 million fee, with only a few details remaining.
