Over $6.5 million! Zamalek discloses massive payouts to settle legal disputes

In an official statement, Egyptian club Zamalek SC announced that since the Board of Directors assumed responsibility on October 23, 2023, it has paid significant amounts to former coaches, players, and clubs to resolve numerous cases that were filed against the club.
According to the club’s statement, the payments made by Zamalek to clubs, coaches, and former players are as follows:
$1,517,800 to Sporting Lisbon (Portugal)
$512,390 to Caracas FC (Venezuela) related to the transfer of Beninese player Samson Akinyoola
$24,364 to Lyon 36 (Nigeria) as a solidarity payment concerning Samson Akinyoola
$83,455 in dues for the assistants of Portuguese coach Jesualdo Ferreira
$340,130 in dues for Ghanaian player Benjamin Acheampong
$2,819,000 in dues for Moroccan player Khalid Boutaib
$46,398 for Moroccan player Ahmed Belhadj
$68,000 to the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA)
$1,141,280 in dues for former Portuguese head coach Jaime Pacheco
The total amount paid by the current board to settle fines and dues for former clubs, players, and coaches has reached approximately $6,522,913.
The latest of these payments was the fine owed to former head coach Jaime Pacheco in addition to a fine related to Moroccan striker Khalid Boutaib.
