Newly appointed Nigeria national team coach Eric Chelle is expected to make compatriot Jean-Daniel Padovani the next goalkeeper coach of the Super Eagles. The French-Malian coach was announced as manager of the Super Eagles in January.

Padovani is well known for working alongside Chelle. His latest work was at Algerian side MC Oran. The Frenchman confirmed on LinkedIn that he has terminated his contract with MC Oran in search of greener pastures. Although Padovani did not disclose where his next move will be, his activity on social media gave a hint to his followers indicating that he will join Chelle on the new Super Eagles technical team.

Padovani previously worked as goalkeeper coach of the Mali national team with Chelle and also at French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain. The 45-year-old made almost 400 appearances during his playing career in France with the likes of Angers, Dijon, Cannes and Nice.
