Pape Matar Sarr: Tottenham working hard for next season

Senegal midfielder Pape Matar Sarr has expressed Tottenham Hotspur’s preparedness for next season’s English Premier League.

The 22-year-old’s blistering strike half way from the middle of the park helped Spurs beat Arsenal 1-0 in an international friendly at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong on Thursday, July 31.

Sarr spoke to the media after their win: “We are working very hard to be ready for the league and I am very happy to be with the gaffer and I will keep ready to go for the league,” Matar Sarr said.

“It’s important for everyone and like I said, we will keep going and we will be ready for the league.

Sarr added his voice to Tottenham Hotspur’s UEFA Super Cup finals where they will clash with European champions Paris Saint-Germain at the Friuli Stadium in Udine, Italy on Wednesday August 13.

“We are looking forward to that [UEFA Super Cup] because we are prepared like we played against Arsenal and we are going to be ready for the finals against PSG.”

Tottenham Spurs will next play fellow Premier League side Newcastle United at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in another friendly on August 3 before taking on Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on August 7.

The Europa League winners will open their 2025/26 English Premier League campaign at home against Burnley on August 13 after clearing the UEFA Super Cup against PSG.
