Burnley FC coach Scott Parker has revealed some good news on Bafana Bafana forward Lyle Foster as they prepare for their EFL Championship fixture against Watford at Vicarage Road on Friday.

The 24-year-old suffered a shoulder injury during their 0-0 draw encounter with Derby County FC on Tuesday, April 8.

“We had some good news around Lyle [Foster], and we are hoping we will see him again before the end of the season. It may be as quick as over the next couple of games,” said Parker during a press conference ahead of the game against Watford.

“So, again, we are at the back end of the season. He is in the frame of mind where he wants to get back as well. We will see, we will slowly push him, we pushed him [on Wednesday], see how he comes out of that and take it gradually with him.

“From the initial worry, whilst it’s still a biggish injury, it’s stable and it might be something if Lyle can tolerate, it’s still a big ask, but we will see where Lyle progresses with that really.”

Burnley are currently sitting second on the 24-team table with 88 points, the same number as leaders Leeds United. They have managed 24 wins, 16 draws and suffered two defeats.

So far this season, Foster has featured in 27 matches, scored two goals and provided five assists. He has been yellow carded four times.
