South African international Percy Tau appears to be on the verge of leaving Al Ahly to join Qatar SC during the ongoing winter transfer window.
According to The Sporting Arab, a Qatari sports outlet, Al Ahly has agreed to let Tau move to Qatar SC with the player's contract set to expire at the end of the current season. This could indicate that the transfer fee will not be substantial.
The newspaper suggest that Tau is expected to arrive in Qatar on Thursday where he will undergo a medical examination before being officially registered as a new player for Qatar SC.
Tau joined Al Ahly in the summer of 2021 and has since made 126 appearances for the Egyptian giants, scoring 30 goals and providing 14 assists.
His time at Al Ahly has been highly successful, with the forward winning multiple titles, including:
Egyptian Premier League: 2 titles
Egyptian Cup: 2 titles
Egyptian Super Cup: 4 titles
CAF Champions League: 2 titles
CAF Super Cup: 1 title
FIFA Club World Cup Bronze Medal: 1 time
CAF-AFC Challenger Cup: 1 title
Tau also earned personal accolades during his stint with Al Ahly, being named the CAF Interclub Player of the Year in 2023.
Qatar SC also currently have Egyptian attacker Ahmed Abdelkader on loan from Al Ahly.
