Zamalek SC head coach Jose Peseiro confirmed the importance of the upcoming match against National Bank on Monday in the fourth round of the title-deciding phase in the Nile Egyptian League.

Peseiro said in Sunday's press conference: “Tomorrow’s match is important for us against a good team. We must give our best, and we will continue competing until the end of the league.”

The head coach commented on the issue of missed chances, saying: “There hasn’t been enough time in the recent period due to the pressure of fixtures, but we dedicated a large portion of our recent training sessions to improving the final touch and enhancing attacks — something that was missing before. In the last six matches, we conceded only one goal, but what we need is to increase chance creation and improve the final decision in front of goal.”

“Zamalek will not give up in the league race. As long as there is a chance, we will keep fighting. Mathematically, the league is not over, but it’s not easy because it depends on the results of the other teams.”

The head coach pointed out that both Mahmoud Hamdy ‘El-Wensh’ and Mahmoud Bentayg are ready for the match after finishing their suspensions. He also confirmed that El-Wensh has completed his rehabilitation program after injury and has since participated normally in team training.

Peseiro continued: “Zamalek has recently suffered from impactful absences in some matches, like Mahmoud Abdel Razek ‘Shikabala’, Mahmoud Gihad, and Ahmed El-Gefaly, and we are waiting for their return to training soon.”

The coach also said: “The absence of the fans in tomorrow’s match is significant — their presence gives great support to the team. But are punishments only applied to Zamalek fans? That’s not fair. We need the fans, and I ask them not to give any reason for their absence. I am waiting for their return in the next match against Pyramids.”

Zamalek currently sit third in the Nile Egyptian League with 39 points, seven points behind Al Ahly in second place, and with a game in hand.
