Esperance de Tunis are making significant progress in negotiations with Mamelodi Sundowns over the transfer of Peter Shalulile, the club’s prolific Namibian striker, according to “iDiski Times”.
The 31-year-old forward is expected to join the Tunisian giants soon, having already left Sundowns’ pre-season training camp earlier today in anticipation of completing the move, according to the same source.
Shalulile has been a standout figure in South African football since joining Sundowns in 2020. Over the past five seasons, he has helped the club to six major titles, including:
Three Premier Soccer League (PSL) titles
Two domestic cup trophies: the MTN8 Cup and Nedbank Cup
African Football League title
His individual accolades are just as impressive. Shalulile was the top scorer of CAF Champions League in the 2022/23 season, and was Premier Soccer League (PSL) top scorer on three separate seasons. He was also awarded the DStv Premiership Player of the Season by Transfermarkt, solidifying his status as one of the best players in African club football.
The Namibian international’s expected move to ES Tunis marks the end of a remarkable chapter in South African football and the beginning of a new challenge in North Africa.
