Pirates issue Injury update on Sesane and Rasebotja

Orlando Pirates have provided an injury update on defender Thabiso Sesane and midfielder Selaelo Rasebotja, confirming that both players remain sidelined as they continue to prepare for their next Betway Premiership encounter.

The Sea Robbers have had a challenging start to the season under new head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, who replaced Jose Riveiro in the offseason. The club has been without several key players, including Olisa Ndah and Makhehlene Makhaula, with captain Nkosinathi Sibisi also suffering an injury in the Soweto giants’ second league match against Marumo Gallants.

Pirates are now on a three-match winless streak, having suffered two successive league defeats before their 1-1 draw against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 semi-final. The team’s struggles are compounded by the absence of Sesane and Rasebotja, who both suffered knocks toward the end of the previous campaign.

As Pirates prepare to face Stellenbosch FC in a crucial league match, the club confirmed that neither player will be available. The team is desperate for a win to climb out of 14th place in the standings.

Despite the injuries, the club stated that other players have stepped up, with Sihle Nduli and Lebone Seema filling the void left by key players.

Pirates will be hoping to replicate their recent MTN8 performance to secure their first league points of the season on Wednesday night at Orlando Stadium in the Stellies game.
