Gor Mahia midfielder Enock Morrison has admitted that his chances to play for Ghana’s senior national team looks extremely slim considering the array of stars in the squad.

The former Asante Kotoko midfielder will have to compete with Mohammed Kudus, Thomas Partey and Jordan Ayew per his preferred position in the middle of the park if invited.

Morrison, who joined Gor Mahia from Asante Kotoko last year, believes the level at which he plays dims his chances of earning a spot in the Black Stars.

He is however pushing for a bigger move to big continental clubs like Egypt powerhouse Al Ahly or South Africa giants Mamelodi Sundowns to increase his chance of a senior debut.

“I am a Ghanaian but for now with the Black Stars [chance] it’s difficult. I’ve always said that it will be difficult to play [for the Black Stars] now because you ply your trade in Kenya,” Morrison told Mo Television.

“I play in number six, number eight and number ten and if I am invited now who am I going to play against, Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, I can’t. Not because I can’t compete against them but the reality is that, the guy is playing at West Ham, that will be difficult [to compete against].

“However we in the African leagues will push harder so that when we get clubs like Al Ahly, Mamelodi Sundowns then definitely then we can now show that we are ready to play for the Black Stars.

“My focus now is getting a very good team and a good contract. If I get that opportunity then I can replicate the form I exhibit in Kenyan with Gor Mahia. My work will speak for me because I want to be called for the Black Stars.”

The 25-year-old who previously played for now Division One club King Faisal, made 31 appearances, scoring three goals and providing two assists in his first season at Kotoko before making 22 appearances, scoring once and providing two assists in his second term at the Porcupine Warriors.

He snubbed Accra Hearts of Oak to join the Kenyan top flight side after receiving a g juicy offer from the Nairobi based club. They placed second last season on 59 points from 34 league games.
