Kenya Police FC moved top of the FKF Premier League table following their hard-fought 1-0 win against Kariobangi Sharks at Police Sacco Stadium on Saturday.

The law enforcers were forced to wait until the second half to score what turned out to be the winner. Harambee Stars defender Aboud Omar scored a sumptuous free-kick from outside the area in the 55th minute.

Omar stepped up to unleash a curled left-footed effort which hit the top right corner. Police held on to register their sixth win of the campaign. Police are now topping the table with 20 points from 10 matches. They have managed six wins, two draws and lost twice.

However, their lead could be short-lived as Gor Mahia will return to action on Sunday to face AFC Leopards in the much-anticipated Mashemeji derby at Nyayo National Stadium. A win for Gor Mahia against their sworn-rivals will see them move above Police.

Shabana have accumulated 18 points from 11 matches

Meanwhile, Shabana jumped to fourth on the log following a 1-0 home win against Bidco United. Mark Okola scored the lone goal via a penalty in the 55th minute to hand the Kisii-based Glamour Boys their fifth win of the campaign.

Shabana have accumulated 18 points from 11 matches. Meanwhile, on Friday, Dennis Oalo’s first half penalty secured three vital points for Tusker FC in a 1-0 win over Ulinzi Stars.

Oalo converted from the spot after Curtis Wekesa was hacked down inside the box to ensure the Brewers collected back to back wins. Wekesa was brought down when he raced to a Thomas Omolle cut back, the winger having done well to beat the keeper.

As he took a touch on the ball the forward he was hacked down and Oalo made no mistake from the spot for his fourth goal of the season. It was a calming goal, especially with Ulinzi having started faster off the blocks.

Tusker captain Charles Momanyi had made two last ditch crucial to deny Ulinzi with an open goal after some nervous defending.
