South Africa’s Polokwane City FC coach Phuti Mohafe has rued his team’s lapse in concentration after losing 1-0 to Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa on Wednesday.
During the Betway Premiership game, City seemed to have held their own for the better part of the proceedings only to be undone by Siphesihle Ndhlovu’s 79th minute goal.
The manner in which City conceded the goal, coming off a rebound, did not please Mohafe.
“It was a game that could have gone either way, but they had better possession and ball rotation. We gave them the spaces they were looking for especially in their own half, but we made sure that in our half, we close those passages…” Mohafe explained to SuperSport Television.
“It was so unfortunate to concede a goal from a moment of a lack of concentration from one of our wingers. The other winger on the other side, didn’t track back and that is how we conceded.”
The defeat left City, who drew 0-0 with Magesi FC last weekend, winless this Betway Premiership season.
In the opposite camp, Chiefs have now won two straight games to emerge as the early pacesetters.
