Ayari, 20, caught the attention of many European clubs after impressing at Stade Tunisien. He was a member of the Tunisia U20 national side when they took part in the 2025 African U20 Nations Cup in Egypt. Ayari started the 2025/26 season in the Tunisian Ligue 1 but left for the French capital to attend trials, during which he was able to convince the PSG scouts.
Stade Tunisien confirmed the move, while Tunisian state media outlet La Presse claimed that Ayari will be heading to Paris after the local national side’s friendly games against Egypt on September 6 and 9. Ayari is among the players who received a call-up for the friendly ties ahead of the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup.
PSG coach Luis Enrique noted it is not the time to speak regarding Ayari and his talents, as he sought to protect the player from mounting pressure. “I saw him in one match, but I can’t speak about any player in particular. It is important to give young players space to grow.”
Ayari scored three goals during the 2024/25 season. He broke into the first team of Stade Tunisien in the 2023/24 season.
