The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has officially confirmed that the 2025 MTN8 final will be contested between Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday, September 13.
The highly anticipated match is scheduled for a 18:00 kickoff.
The announcement was made at the PSL’s Parktown headquarters, where a draw was also conducted to determine the home and away teams. As the designated home side, defending champions Pirates will face Stellenbosch FC, who will be the away team.
The Buccaneers, led by coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, secured their spot in the final with a 4-1 penalty shootout victory over Mamelodi Sundowns after the two-legged semifinal ended 2-2 on aggregate. Stellenbosch FC, under the guidance of Steve Barker, advanced after a convincing 3-1 aggregate win against Sekhukhune United.
This marks a repeat of last year’s final, where Orlando Pirates defeated Stellenbosch 3-1 at Moses Mabhida Stadium. Pirates will be aiming for their fourth consecutive MTN8 title.
The Mbombela Stadium, with a capacity of 43,500, last hosted the MTN8 final in 2016. Ticket information and other logistical details will be announced by the PSL at a later date.
