Zimbabwe football star Knowledge Musona finally made his debut in the country’s top-flight Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) on Saturday.
For all his big resume in Africa and beyond, the 35-year-old had never set foot on the professional football fields of the Castle PSL.
This was because Musona left Zimbabwe to sign for Kaizer Chiefs over 15 years ago while on the books of a Zimbabwe youth team. Such a move to the Rainbow Nation opened the doors for a further adventure in Germany, Belgium and Saudi Arabia.
The 35-year-old returned home last week to sign for the newcomers. Finally, the Warriors’ attacker got his first taste of the Castle PSL when Scottland FC thrashed FC Platinum 5-2 at Mandaza Stadium.
He came off the bench to help the newcomers stay comfortably on top. However, Knowledge Musona was denied a chance to play on the same pitch with his younger brother, Walter.
The former Chiefs star replaced his brother who had contributed a goal for Scottland FC.
The Castle PSL rookies ended Platinum’s unbeaten league run this season and went top of the table as of Saturday, displacing Simba Bhora FC.
