Lesotho national team coach Leslie Notsi has named four players drawn from the South Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL) in the squad to face Malawi in friendlies in November.

The Likuena handler has released the 23-member squad for the back-to-back strength-building matches scheduled for 15 and 18 November in Bloemfontein, South Africa.

The PSL legion include Orbit FC goalkeeper Sekhoane Moerane, striker Motebang Sera of Venda FC, Siwelele FC defender Thabo Makhele and Upington City FC’s midfielder Tsoarelo Bereng have earned their seats in the squad.

How did Lesotho and Malawi perform in their last outing?

The Flames will return to action a month after they finished the World Cup qualifiers in the worst possible manner. They lost 1-0 to Sao Tome and Principe October 13, 2025. It was such a gift for the minnows, who until that result, had not won any match in Group H of the World Cup qualifiers.

Kalisto Pasuwa’s side finished in fifth place with 13 points, way behind Namibia and Liberia, whose final tally was 15 points, let alone leaders Tunisia’s 28 points. The Carthage Eagles sealed the World Cup berth outright.

In the opposite camp, Lesotho finished the World Cup race strongly by upsetting Zimbabwe 1-0, a result that eventually cost then Warriors coach Michael Nees his job.
