PSL playoff draw confirmed: Road to Betway Premiership decided

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed the draw for the promotion/relegation playoffs, charting the course for teams vying for a coveted spot in the top flight or battling to maintain their Premiership status.

The draw was conducted on Thursday, 15 May 2025, and broadcast live on the official PSL Facebook page. These playoffs, kicking off on Tuesday, 27 May and concluding on Saturday, 14 June, will decide which teams secure a place in the Betway Premiership next season.

The Motsepe Foundation Championship is heading towards a thrilling conclusion with Orbit College FC, Casric Stars, Black Leopards, and Kruger United all in contention for the playoff spots.

Meanwhile, Durban City FC are on the verge of automatic promotion to the PSL, needing just a single point from their final match. The teams finishing second and third in the Championship will then face the club that ends the Betway Premiership season in 15th position in the promotion/relegation playoffs.

Currently occupying the 15th spot in the league standings with 23 points from 26 matches, Cape Town City FC still have the opportunity to climb out of the relegation playoff position with two games remaining. Their fate is also intertwined with the performance of Golden Arrows, as the Cape Town side will be hoping the KwaZulu-Natal club drops points in their final three fixtures.

The playoff draw assigned the 15th-placed team from the Betway Premiership as "Club One." The two participating teams from the Motsepe Foundation Championship were designated as "Club Two" and "Club Three."
