The headline fixture of the Nile Egyptian League round 3 ended in a dramatic 2-2 draw between Pyramids and Al Masry at the New Suez Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Brazilian midfielder Everton da Silva opened the scoring for Pyramids in the 37th minute with a brilliant strike from outside the penalty area that flew into the net.

Shortly after the break, Al Masry’s in-form forward Abdelraheem Deghmoum equalized in the 49th minute. The Algerian capitalized on a defensive rebound and slotted home with the Pyramids goalkeeper caught out of position. The goal was Deghmoum’s third of the season, making him the league’s current top scorer.

Pyramids regained the lead through Congolese striker Fiston Mayele, who showed great movement to break free, show skill infront of the goalkeeper, and finish clinically.

But Al Masry refused to give up and found the equalizer in the 83rd minute through the lively Omar El Saei, who struck from inside the box to seal a point for his side.

The result makes Al Masry stay at the top of the Nile Egyptian League table with 7 points, while Pyramids move to second place on 5 points, pending the rest of the round’s fixtures.
