Pyramids FC has been crowned the Best African Club of 2025 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), during the CAF awards ceremony hosted at Mohammed VI University in Rabat, Morocco.
The Egyptian club entered the CAF awards night as a strong contender after an exceptional season in which they captured both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Super Cup, overcoming fellow finalists Mamelodi Sundowns and RS Berkane.
They loved the history books so much they have a copy named after them!

Pyramids faced competition for the award, with Morocco’s RS Berkane—champions of the CAF Confederation Cup—and South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, the runners-up in the Champions League, also nominated.
However, Pyramids’ continental double ultimately secured them the top honor.
The club’s triumph continues Egypt’s recent dominance in this category, following Al Ahly’s consecutive wins in 2023 and 2024.
Pyramids’ victories over both Sundowns and Berkane in the finals of their respective competitions highlighted their rise on the African stage and cemented their status as the continent’s standout club for the year.
